Random Thoughts - Underrated Bands and Looking Forward

I think many bands didn't get their due but that could be a myriad of reasons. There are a few that I think should have gotten on that arena tour but never did.  Elliott from Louisville, KY was one of the most emotional bands I ever saw live, but alas, only 10 of my friends at any show.  A couple others were Cross My Heart which turned into Liar's Academy.  Two criminally forgotten bands and albums that still have huge hooks and amazing melody.  Then for a band that is still around, The Appleseed Cast.  If you want to go back in time to 1998, then go to an Appleseed Cast show.  They are still putting out music, still touring around the world and making some of the most beautiful music.  I could go on for pages with bands, which is why I started the site in the first place.  I wanted a place where these band's legacies could be remembered and one day the music would rise again.  We are getting there day by day and I couldn't be happier where the place of emo is resting at this time.  It's not on a swoop or eyeliner but a note, a riff or a trading of 7"s that is still alive and there are new bands now taking the torch.  Case in point, an upcoming show for Topshelf Records with bands on their label and headlined by Braid (now on Topshelf) and The Jazz June.  If you told me a show like that would happen 10 years ago, I wouldn't have believed you at all.  Thankfully I was wrong and new and old combine to lead us into the future. I can't wait to hear what's next.
