BANDS DON'T BREAK UP - Fairweather Reunion in May

Again, remember kids, bands do not break up.

Fairweather are playing the Black Cat in DC on May 14th and for last one night see their fans at 30+ enjoying their music. I'm all for it, I love this band but it just continues to prove that no one breaks up.

On May 14th, Equal Vision Records’ Fairweather will reunite for their first performance together in eight years. The show will feature the full line up of Jay Littleton [vocals], Peter Tsouras [guitar, vocals], Ben Green [guitar, vocals], Shane Johnson [drums], and Ben Murphy [bass], performing at Black Cat in their hometown of Washington D.C.

Prior to disbanding in 2003, Fairweather released two full-length albums, If They Move...Kill Them and Lusitania, and a four song EP, Alaska. Over the years, they have toured with the likes of Thursday, Brand New, Recover, Dashboard Confessional, Piebald, Strike Anywhere, The Movielife and more.

Though each member has remained friends and continued to be involved in music during the hiatus, whether it be playing in new bands (Olympia and SEAS) or engineering records for local bands in the DC area, the band reveals that the chance to reunite on stage as Fairweather is something they have all been looking forward to.

"Fairweather was everything to us for a number of years. It was practically our entire existence. So, when we did stop, it was nice to focus on other parts of our lives for a change. It was only in the past year or two that we started talking about how much fun it would be to play together again," states Tsouras.

“I was a little curious how a practice would go after such a long break from playing Fairweather songs. Now that we’ve done it I can tell you it was one of my favorite experiences in recent memory. It’s amazing to me how comfortable and awesome it still is to play loud music with my friends," adds Littleton. “To put it simply, the reunion show is all about having fun. We’re also excited to reconnect with our fans since they were always such a big part of what made playing in Fairweather such a memorable experience.”

Tickets will be available March 11th, on Black Cat’s website. Show information can be found below and will be updated with additional details on the band’s Official Facebook.
