Happy Milwaukee Day! New Dramatic Lovers Song!

Milwaukee band, Dramatic Lovers, debut new music video “Slow Down” filmed and edited in quarantine and in conjunction with the new single “Buried b/w Slow Down”

“Buried b/w Slow Down” is the follow up single to Dramatic Lovers’ celebrated full-length debut, 2019’s “You Talk Loud”. These two songs were tracked in Wauwatosa, WI by Daniel Holter at Wire & Vice studios on March 10th and 11th 2020. After the sudden shutdown of all inessential businesses in the state of Wisconsin, Dramatic Lover’s “Slow Down” video was mixed, mastered, shot, and edited within a 48 hour period while sheltering in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Released in conjunction with the streaming of new single, “Buried b/w Slow Down.”

Bio: Dramatic Lovers. It’s an audacious band name, sure, but there’s no reason to be shy with your emotions in 2020. Before we go shortening the e-word, though, let’s understand that these Midwestern gentlemen are neither beholden to nor ashamed of their musical genealogies: Members did time in The Promise Ring, Maritime, Decibully, and Temper Temper, among others—all-stars in their own ways and at their own times. It should also be noted that these Dramatic Lovers take their name from a violence-prone group of WWI-era anarchists that haunted the very same Milwaukee neighborhood that the band now calls home. The band played their first show at the Cactus Club, the exact building in which the anarchists gathered weekly, a hundred years before. Their methods and goals are different, but both groups of Lovers share a certain Milwaukee-specific sense of righteous passion. Since their inception, Dramatic Lovers has recorded three singles, a full length, toured regionally, and have played the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas.
