Salem — An "emo" party aimed at teens is scheduled for Thursday at Salem Public Library.

The 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. event is at Loucks Auditorium, 585 Liberty St. SE. It includes a poetry slam, chocolate tasting test and sock-puppet-making session.

Emo is a term with punk roots that morphed into a more general description of particularly expressive music.
