#159 - 20th Anniversary of The Promise Ring's "Very Emergency" with Dan Didier

I keep a loose schedule of anniversaries and milestones for bands as best I can. One that I noticed with enough time to think about it and realize it was a big album was “Very Emergency” from The Promise Ring. The follow up to “Nothing Feels Good,” which you’ve now heard more as a book title than an album, was a divisive moment in the scene at the time. The band took a swing with what they were listening to at the time as the masses expected NFG part two. Released on September 28th, 1999 on Jade Tree Records, it was iconic as soon as the CD and vinyl wrapping was ripped off.
